Uplifting Christian Songs
There is nothing that communicates to the soul as much as music does. Music is a very good way to improve and raise your moods, enhance your outlook on life, boost your spirits and help you look at situations in a different light. When you listen to some songs, you can be provided with useful insights, new ideas, new perspectives, a passion may be aroused, you may be given hope, you may become cheerful and thankful and so many other good feelings. When you think about it, a song does not have to have direct solutions to our problems. At times you just need to wake up and dance, jump, clap, hop, cry, skip, be still, kneel, dream, think and even wiggle. At times you may even express your passion. This can be done through humming and singing along. What I am saying in short is that music does wonders to ones soul. You should however be aware that only listening to the right music is uplifting. As I said music is very powerful and songs that are sad or violent can actually inspire you to act in such a way. When you need to be uplifted, especially in tough times which are so dominant nowadays, choose Christian music. Let us just look at a few uplifting Christian songs to help with the tough times.
The first I will talk about is “Who am I” by Casting Crowns. This song is also the name of the album in which it comes from. Casting Crowns are a Christian band whose leader is a youth pastor. This means that the band is in touch with what is going on in the world. They do not view themselves as above the world as many Christians do. Instead, they see themselves as part and parcel of the world. This is why they sang this song. They view themselves as people who are not worthy to be called children of God. They view themselves as sinners just like the rest of the world. This song reminds us of who we are. Even though we are not worthy, we are still God’s children and he loves us. The song ends by asking, since we are God’s children, whom shall we fear?
Another uplifting Christian song is “Ooh Child” by Donnie McClurkin and Kirk Franklin. The names themselves already rhyme. Anyway, this song talks about the tough times in detail; especially if you watch the video. These artists are so in touch that they know exactly what to say so as to uplift you. The song keeps encouraging you that things are going to get easier. All you need to do is hope and pray. I strongly believe in what the song talks about as tough times never last but tough people do.
The newest uplifting song is “Smile” by Kirk Franklin. This song says that we should not let adversity get the better of us. No matter what we face, let us always smile because we look so much better when we smile.
Other Christian songs that I think may be uplifting to you are “Lay em Down” by Need2breath, and “Gimme your Eyes” by Brandon Heath.
